#N4-024
Ca. 1936
Framed. Ca. 108 x 40 cm (42 ½ x 15 ¾ in.) Few tears restored under the glass, closer to the edges of the poster, a small piece of poster is missing from the top of the poster, not affecting the image of the women. The store's address is repeated in Japanese, specifying the city as Honolulu.
The advertising poster for the Y. Tsutsumi Store (Dealer in Provisions and Groceries in Honolulu) was printed in Osaka, Japan, and subsequently imported into the United States. Located on the corner of Vineyard Boulevard and Punchbowl St., the store was in business from the late 1920s through at least the mid-1960s, as documented in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
