Ninety-four pairs of albumen stereoview photographs, including four duplicates, each pair ca. 7,5x15 cm (2 ¾ x 6 in) mounted on original grey ‘Underwood&Underwood’ cards. All photos are captioned at the bottom of the card, many has explanatory text at the back: a few paragraphs in English, and the translation of the main title of the photograph into Spanish, German, French, Danish and Russian. A few card mounts with wear and sign of a book-worm, but not affecting the images (except for the bottom margins of images number 32 ‘Calendar Stone’ and number 70 ‘Carpet Factory’), otherwise a very good collection of strong stereoviews.

“Underwood & Underwood established itself in 1882 as a stereographic distribution company. The company was founded by two brothers, Elmer and Bert Underwood…. Underwood & Underwood were publishing twenty-five thousand stereographs a day by 1901…. Around 1900 Underwood & Underwood introduced boxed sets, with specific themes such as education or religion, and travel sets depicting popular tourist areas of the world.” (The Yellowstone Stereoview Page)
