#PB40
Ca. 1890s
Eight cardstock mounts each ca. 30 x 25 cm (11 ¾ x 9 ¼ in). With 32 mounted albumen photographs each ca. 11.5 x 8.5 cm (4 ½ x 3 ¼ in). Most images with period printed captions on white paper labels attached to mounts (captions relate to up to four images). Mounts slightly waved and age-toned; a few photographs mildly faded, but overall a very good collection of interesting photos.

Six photographs show Glenwood Springs, incorporated in 1885 and known for its hot springs. They include views of Hotel Colorado (built 1893) and the Glenwood Hot Springs Bathhouse (built ca. 1888). One photograph is a street view of Colorado Springs.
24 photographs show natural landscapes of Colorado, including views from the Rocky Mountains (mountainous landscapes, a settlement, and a train along a river), the Arkansas River, environs of Pikes Peak, the Garden of the Gods, and a horse-drawn carriage in William’s Canyon (Manitou Springs).
Overall, an interesting collection of photographs showing central Colorado at the turn of the 20th century.
