Unusual collection of Icelandic studio photos apparently collected by a British tourist during the trip to the island in the 1930s. The views show Icelandic communities and natural sites, including remote northern towns of Blönduós and Akureyri, Bildudalur, and Hjalteyri villages, the tuberculosis sanatorium in Kristen, Reykjavík; Hafnarfjörður, Eskifjörður, and Hornafirði cities, the main settlement on the nearby Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, Reykjanesvitilighthouse, Bjarnarneskirkja and Víðimýrarkirkja churches. The other views depict Skaftafellsjökull glacier, Thórsmörk and Öxnadalurvalley, Hvalfjörður fjord,Trollafoss and Gufufoss waterfalls, glaciers and the Karlsdrattur cove of the Hvítárvatn Lake, bridges over the Ölfusá, Vatnsdalsá, Blanda, Hieraosvötn, Ytri-Ranga and Hrutafjardara Rivers; Kaldadal Highland Road, a view taken from the Hellisheiði lava plateau, and others. One of the last photos is an attractive group portrait of Icelandic girls in traditional costumes. Overall a beautiful collection of unusual views of Iceland.
